The Anatomy of the Spinal Cord

The spinal cord is a ventral extension of the brainstem giving rise to the 31-32 pairs of spinal nerves innervating the somatic and visceral aspects of the body. This site will examine both the gross morphology of the spinal cord and its internal architecture.
